So without grabbing Dual Wielder, we are able to Dual Wield a 2d8 and a 1d8 weapon, and as a Thri-Kreen we get to add a Shield to that too. Except, Shadow Blade also has the light property. This gives you the only 1d8 weapon that has 'light' property. Now, most people use Shillelagh on a Quarterstaff, but if you use it on a club, it retains it's properties. So we'd be picking up dual wielder for a 1d6 -> 1d8 on only one of our weapons. If you're looking to use a shield, only one of your arms can be wielding a non-light weapon. There's a strange combo that I've found which is Shillelagh + Shadow Blade Dual Wielding. It could be good as a Sorcadin as well, means you can rock those spell attack bonus wands while still rocking your big weapon or staff+shield. That means between Brace, Sentinel, and Riposte you have a lot of ways to proc AoO, especially because you have two weapon sets one for 10 feet, one for 5 feet.Īs an Artificer it's pretty damn saucy too at high levels. Plus with the natural armour you can have a 14 con and still rock 16 + 2 ac at 1st level which is fantastic. Nets you a reliable 4 attacks per turn at 5th level while still getting +2 AC. I really that you can be a Beast Barbarian, wear a shield, dual wield, and still get your claw going.

A slightly loose interpretation of the Aptitude magic weapon enhancement ability and the feat Hand Crossbow Focus leads to a situation when combined with a Great Crossbow where you can get iterative attacks in a round with the Great Crossbow (through free action reloading as if it were a Hand Crossbow). If Dragon Magazine material is not available, then you can just take a level or two of Fighter (or just any class and use up your normal feats) and choose the Exotic Weapon Proficiency feats for those two crossbows instead.
